Music & Worship

Music, that God-given gift finds its richest expressed in Christian worship. The Christian faith sings because it has the most beautiful and substantive message entrusted by God to people, namely the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Consider using your God-given gift of music through the ministry of music at Henderson. We are blessed with many opportunities to serve in the music ministry. Know that YOU are welcome to participate. Here is just one example of our many ministries: "At the Hop" dinner show and dance highlights.

Sanctuary Choir- The Sanctuary Choir rehearses each Wednesday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. This worship team leads worship each Sunday at the 9:00 a.m. traditional service. The repertoire includes the great sacred choral literature of the past and present. During the Christmas season, this choir prepares and presents a major program complete with orchestra and other instrumental ensembles. The Sanctuary Choir has been the foundation of Henderson's music ministry for many years!

"The Vine" Praise Team- Rehearses each Thursday from 7:00-8:30 p.m. This team leads the 11:00 a.m. contemporary worship service each Sunday. Repertoire emphasis is on contemporary Christian music. The team includes singers, percussionists, keyboard, bass and guitars. Henderson seeks to provide musicians with opportunities to play for the glory of God. Instrumentalists at all proficiency levels are encourage to consult with our Music Minster if they feel God is leading them into this ministry.

Youth Praise Team-The Youth Praise Team is comprised of young people from grades seven through twelve who love to worship our awesome God with music and song. They follow the passage from 1 Chronicles 15:13 “David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers to sing joyful songs, accompanied by musical instruments: lyres, harps and cymbals.” This team rehearses every Tuesday at 6pm and Sunday 1 hour before youth. The team leads "Plunge" on Wednesday nights, in the youth room “The Well”, for our youth. They also participate in special events and concerts with in our church and with other churches around Central Arkansas. The youth praise team also leads worship for the 11:00 a.m. contemporary service periodically during the year. Children's Choirs- A graded children's choir program is a vital and important part of the music ministry at Henderson. The various children's choirs develop musical skills throughout the year. Then they participate in Sunday worship services throughout the year. Rehearsals of all children's choirs are Wednesday from 6:00-7:00 p.m during September through May.

Adult Hand Bells-Henderson is blessed to have the excellent hand bell ensemble "Rollins Ringers." They perform regularly in our church services. Rehearsals are held each Wednesday from 6:15-7:00 p.m. Our beginning group of ringers, the "Vibrations" meet each Wednesday from 5:30-6:15 p.m. The only requirement to serve in the hand bell choirs is your ability to count and recognize colors! So, come on and join the fun!
